WHAT:
Recently retired NFL veteran Jon Feliciano, in a powerful demonstration of community spirit, is once again teaming up with his alma mater, Western High School, to host a backpack and school supply giveaway. The event is open to students in the Western High School zone, including Flamingo Elementary School, Fox Trail Elementary School, Silver Ridge Elementary School, Indian Ridge Middle School and Western High School. Distribution of the 480 pre-filled backpacks will be on a first-come, first-served basis. No pre-registration is required.
"I'm excited to host my fifth backpack event. I see so much of myself in these kids, and I'm thrilled to do what I can to ensure they start the year off right," Feliciano said. "I appreciate the Western High School administration for continuing to provide me with the opportunity to give back."

About Jon Feliciano
Jon Feliciano is a powerhouse on the field and a hero off it. Now retired after an impressive 10-year NFL career, Jon played for the San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, Buffalo Bills, and Oakland Raiders. Known for his fierce and dependable play, he earned three Pro Bowl nominations and was the recipient of the Buffalo Bills' 2020 Ed Block Courage Award.
Off the field, Jon has always been committed to giving back. He’s hosted annual backpack and Thanksgiving dinner giveaways for families in the Bronx, Buffalo, and South Florida. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he stepped up in a big way – donating $25,000 to Meals on Wheels South Florida and Feeding South Florida. He also contributed over $12,000 to organizations like the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Latinos in Action, and The Belle Center. A proud University of Miami graduate, Jon now lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, with his wife Shannon and their three children, enjoying life after football while continuing to make an impact in the community.
